to foster competence and stimulate interest in reading, viewing and using information and ideas through integrated instruction
to work with other educators
to design learning strategies to meet the needs of individual students.
We accomplish these goals by:
Instructing students individually and in groups
Promoting literacy in

Information Center Basics
The INFORMATION CENTER is open from 7:30 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. for serious
study and use of library resources. The Center contains resource materials for reading, viewing and listening. Information Center personnel offer instruction in skills needed to use these materials, as well as assistance with school assignments. Students are encouraged to learn to operate media equipment.
Books, magazines, computers, records, cassettes, videotapes and equipment needed for using audio-visual materials are available in the Center. There is a photocopier available for students use.
Students are responsible for everything that they borrow. Lost or damaged items will be charged at replacement cost.
Freshmen and sophomores who wish to use the Information Center during study hall must pick up a pass before the study hall is scheduled.
Upperclassmen may come to the Information Center any free period.
Teachers reserve the Information Center or the Information Center Computer Lab for their classes for research projects across the curriculum. Many of these teachers collaborate with the Media Specialists when designing projects or assignments. Teachers bring knowledge of their subject area and their students, Media Specialists bring knowledge of the resources available, and technology. Together we help our students to become lifelong learners, and competent users of information.
