Mrs. Smith's
multiage class has been studying the way things change and adapt. We have
studied the life cycle of apples, watermelons, pumpkins, and even sugar
maples from seed to product.
We have studied
backyard birds and learned about their many different beaks and feet which
help them get the food they eat.
We also hatched ten healthy chicks.
The chicks have hatched!!
We
learned that penguins are unique birds that live south of
the equator. They can't fly in the air but they do fly through the
water!
We are now using our knowledge of color chemistry to help us create beautiful image-making papers. When we have enough papers in our portfolios, we'll be writing books about the things we have studied.
Next we plan to study weather. In preparation, we have been learning about the properties of air and water.
Being scientists, writers, readers, and
mathematicians keeps us busy!
