Rose grew up during the Holocaust. When she saw a boy being pulled into a truck she followed the truck to a concentration camp. She begins bringing food for the children. Rose was the hero because even though it was dangerous, her determination and perserverance helped pull the childern through this hard time. Without her, they might have died.
