Crazy Lady tells the story of a boy named Vernon who develops relationships with the neighborhood drunk and her mentally retarded son, Ronald. Throughout the story Vernon changes from a selfish person, to a giving person as he learns what is like to care and be cared for. He is a hero because he uses his time for worthy causes such as helping Ronald get a new pair of sneakers for the Speical Olympics by organzing a fair. He also learns not to judge people by first appearances.
