Izzy goes on a date with a boy named Marco to a party. Marco gets drunk and crashes into a tree on the way to Izzy's house. Izzy ends up needing her right leg amputated. Some of her friends start to ignore her, but she quickly makes a new friend who helps her through her hard times. Izzy is a hero because even though a big change occured she struggled through it. Without her courage Izzy would never be able to face the outside world.
