This book was about the different points of view of Union & Confederate soldiers (mostly high -ranking). It also gave a thorough education on the battle of Gettysburg. This book is about heroism because it profiles all the major role players, most of which are heroes. There are many heroes in this book because it's not just from one person's point of view. It shows the point of view of many people (heroes). Heroism is important in this book because all of the perspectives are from heroes. Therefore, heroes maintain the substance of this book.
