This book is about Jackie Robinson.This book starts off with Jackie and his family having money problems . So Jackie starts working selling hot dogs, and searching for money after baseball games. Several years later he joins a college and becomes very popular in the sports department. Near the end of his first few years of college, he leaves school to join the army. He became a lieutenant in the army and became very popular with sports there too. A couple of years later he was discharged due to a chip in his ankle. A year or two later he became a major league player, and became a legend in baseball as the first black professional baseball player.

Jackie Robinson is a hero because he works hard unselfishly to support his family and to meet his goals.
