SONY MAVICA CAMERA

The Mavica is a great digital camera because it saves on floppy disk. Floppies, rapidly becoming an outdated medium, received a second life in schools with the Mavica.

The ability to take pictures (about 12 per disk), and return the camera, is very appealing. You are left with what you care about ,and the camera can move on. We use the Mavica throughout the district.

To be honest, we do not have a guide, and I was about to make one, when I realized that I should just search for one online. My search for "Mavica instructions" on www.google.com turned up many sites. Here are the best:

Integrating Pictures into your site or work is a little tricker. Pictures from the Mavica can just be brought into: Word 97 PC, Word 98 MAC, Clarisworks 5.0 PC/MAC, First Class and more. Although, ideally, you use a graphics program in between to adjust the picture. We recommend:

1. MAC: Graphic Converter.. free software from www.lemkesoft.com. We also have a guide already created.

2. PC: Either Adobe PhotoDeluxe or the Mavica program that comes with the camera. We have copies in the loan office.
