CREATING A SLIDE SHOW ON GRAPHIC CONVERTER
Graphic Converter will give you a slide show of pictures. The pictures appear with their file name (i.e 0302.jpg). You can write down the file name of the pictures you want to use. This is a good first step before editing the picture. It also makes a great basic slide show.

  1. Go to File Menu: Slide Show
  2. Choose the folder or disk with all your pictures. Start the slide show

SCALING TO THE RIGHT SIZE
You want to keep everything proportional when shrinking a picture. Often people make pictures smaller, but the entire picture becomes distorted when it shrinks. A big no-no!

  1. Make it smaller. Go to the Picture: Size: Scale.
  2. Make sure the scale and proportional boxes are checked &emdash; this will insure an even reduction.
  3. Choose the width (under the size menu, not dimension menu)-- we want 6 inches for the book… the photo will reduce evenly. Watch the numbers change automatically. Press OK.

ADJUSTING THE BRIGHTNESS AND CONTRAST (easier w/B&W)

  1. Go to Picture Menu: Brightness/Contrast. Choose the lock button.
  2. Adjust the levers. You can preview your changes before pressing OK.
  3. Try to avoid using contrast. It is challenging.

SAVING YOUR PICTURE:

Just like any work you do, please give your file a logical name and save it in a logical location.

  1. Go to File Menu: Save As. Once the Save Box appears &emdash; do the following steps:
  2. Choose a name and end it in .jpg Be sure that the format: JPEG/JFIF (which should already be chosen). Your file name could be horse.jpg
  3. Get the dialogue save box in the proper folder. You may want to create a single folder for your images.
  4. Press Save.
